Samsung Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus May Inherit S27 Pro's Zoom Camera

While rumors surrounding a controversial redesign for the Galaxy S27 Ultra persist, a new report suggests the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus models could also receive a significant camera upgrade, potentially rivaling the Ultra's photographic capabilities.

Shared Telephoto Strategy Across the S27 Lineup

Following the underwhelming performance of the Galaxy S26's zoom camera, Samsung may be poised to improve the telephoto system in the upcoming S27 and S27 Plus. Tipster @phonefuturist reported that Samsung is testing “a shared telephoto strategy across the S27 lineup.”

According to the leaker, the base models might utilize the same 3x telephoto system currently found in the Galaxy S27 Pro. While specific sensor details remain unconfirmed, earlier reports indicated the S27 Pro could incorporate a new 12MP sensor for its telephoto camera.

This news follows another rumor from the same source, suggesting the S27 Ultra could feature a completely new 4x telephoto camera with a 1/1.9-inch sensor, potentially leading to a triple-camera system for the flagship model.

Beyond the zoom capabilities, further leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 might adopt a new 50MP sensor from Sony. Other rumors point to a new 16MP front-facing camera across the entire series, along with a 50MP ultra-wide camera specifically for the Ultra and Pro models.
