Pixel Screenshots App Gets New Organization Tools

Google offers a variety of Pixel-exclusive apps, including My Pixel, Now Playing, Pixel Studio, and Screenshots. The Pixel Screenshot app, which utilizes AI to save and organize screenshots, has recently been enhanced with a new update introducing several new filters.

Improved Organization Features

For users who frequently take screenshots, the Pixel Screenshot app provides a valuable organizational tool. It automatically categorizes screen captures by type, eliminating the need to sift through galleries containing numerous photos to find a specific screenshot. A "Search your screenshots with AI" toggle allows users to search using natural language; for example, typing "dog" will display screenshots containing dogs or related imagery. Furthermore, a filter option enables users to filter screenshots based on type, such as social media tags, displaying screenshots taken within specific apps like Instagram.

Previously lacking basic tags like date, the app now includes three new tags in version 1.26.281.05: Date range, Collections, and Sources.

New Tag Functionality

New Tag Functionality

The Date range tag allows users to view screenshots taken within a specified timeframe, with preset options for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 6 months, and 1 year. A Custom button allows for selecting a specific date. The Sources tag lists all installed apps, and selecting an app displays screenshots taken within that app.
