The smartphone world is buzzing with premieres, and Motorola is right in the thick of it. We've seen extensive teasers and details revealed ahead of launch dates, a refreshing change, wouldn't you agree? Motorola itself has largely confirmed the details surrounding the upcoming Edge 70 Fusion, slated for a March 2nd launch. But what's truly intriguing is a newly leaked device – the Edge 70 Fusion Plus – that seems to be joining the party.
Color palette and design familiarity
According to recent renders shared by YTECHB, the Edge 70 Fusion Plus will be available in four vibrant colors: Pantone Blue Surf, Orient Blue, Sporting Green, and Silhouette. The design appears to retain the signature aesthetic of the base model, featuring that distinctive “nylon and linen-inspired” back panel. It's a look that's proven popular, and it's nice to see Motorola sticking with what works, while adding a few exciting tweaks.
Display enhancements: a curved amoled experience
While the overall design remains familiar, the display is getting a significant upgrade. The Plus model will boast a 1.5K quad curved AMOLED screen with a silky-smooth 144Hz refresh rate – a notable improvement over the flat panel found on the standard Edge 70 Fusion. This shift to a curved display, however, might not sit well with everyone. Some find them visually appealing, while others struggle with usability. It's a personal preference, isn't it?
Camera powerhouse: stepping up the game
The most compelling upgrade seems to be in the camera department. While the 50MP main camera might be carried over from the Edge 70 Fusion, both the selfie camera and the ultra-wide lens are getting a substantial boost. We're looking at a jump from 32MP to 50MP for the selfie camera and from 13MP to 50MP for the ultra-wide, respectively. It's a significant upgrade that should translate to noticeably better image quality, especially in low-light conditions.

Details regarding the internal specifications are still somewhat unclear. The standard Edge 70 Fusion will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It also packs a massive 7,000 mAh battery with 68W fast charging. Whether the Plus model will share these specs remains to be seen, but it’s a solid foundation to build upon.
Facing a crowded market
The mid-range smartphone market is becoming increasingly competitive. With the recent announcement of the Google Pixel 8a, rumors of an Apple iPhone 17e and Nothing Phone (4a), and the anticipated launch of the Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57, the Edge 70 Fusion series will need to bring its A-game.
