Android 17 beta 1 is finally here!

Why the delay and no developer preview?

Google initially planned to release Android 17 Beta 1 last Wednesday, but postponed it for reasons not explicitly stated. This release skips the traditional Developer Preview stage. Instead, Google has introduced a Canary channel where new features and APIs are tested continuously.
